Will Thomas is an Emmy-award winning, veteran news anchor you may best know from his many years on Fox 5, WTTG in Washington, DC. He recently announced his next professional chapter in luxury real estate. Will joined TTR Sotheby’s International Realty and will represent clients in DC, Virginia and Maryland with an office base at the Sotheby’s Georgetown Brokerage.
He moved to the region thinking it would be a stopover in his broadcasting career but Will fell in love with the Washington Metropolitan area and the people. He has a long, successful history of buying, designing and selling properties, some of which have been featured in regional and national publications. After 20 years as one of the area’s most trusted news anchors, Will has an unparalleled knowledge of the local marketplace and a unique ability to connect with the community.
Will is now harnessing his years of public service and connections as a broadcaster to help with NVTRP fundraising efforts. This past spring, Will hosted a Great Gatsby themed garden party at the 1907 Edwardian estate in Warrenton, Virginia he shares with his partner, celebrated interior designer Barry Dixon. The afternoon raised nearly $130,000 for NVTRP and Will has agreed to make it an annual event. He is also lending his time and talents to assist other charitable organizations and will be traveling to South Africa later this year to shoot an educational documentary on behalf of a non-profit group which provides handmade quilts to orphaned children in South Africa.
On a more personal note, Will’s only niece has Baraitser-Winter syndrome which is a rare condition that affects the development of many parts of the body, particularly the face and brain. Therapeutic riding is a perfect fit as it enhances social and emotional functioning, as well as motor skills.
