2020 Summer Camp Update

NVTRP is pleased to be able to offer Community Camp this year! NVTRP is in the initial phases of reopening so camp will look a little different this year to be sure everyone stays healthy while still being able to get outside and have fun! All registrations and payments are due by July 1st.

Camp Format

Campers will be split into groups of 4 participants and will interact with only their group of campers that week as well as one instructor and one assistant each day. Camp days will include a riding lesson, a wide variety of educational, hands-on horsemanship activities and games as well as breaks for crafts and snacks/lunch. Campers will learn all of the responsibility of caring for horses in a fun, relaxed environment. 

Participant Eligibility

  • 10-16 years old

  • Able to wear a mask

  • Able to socially distance independently

  • Able to ride a horse without physical support

  • Able to follow directions with verbal cues only

Requirements

  • Submit payment by July 1st and paperwork by July 6th

  • Watch Client Procedure Training video before first day of camp

  • Adhere to all NVTRP Policies and Procedures

  • Must have own helmet and mask

  • Must wear long pants and close toed shoes (boots with a small heel recommended)

  • Beginner camp is for those who have never interacted with horses before to those that can do some trotting or have been to NVTRP camp for 1 summer.

  • Advanced-Beginner camp is for those who can at least post the trot for multiple laps on a variety of horses or have been to NVTRP camp for 2-3 years

  • Intermediate camp is for those who are working on canter or have attended NVTRP for 4+ years.
