NVTRP Elects New Members to Board of Directors

Updated: Jan 24, 2022

NVTRP is excited to announce the election of two new members to its Board of Directors: Sherrie Beckstead and Robert (Bob) Baldassari.

Sherrie Beckstead is a partner in the companies in which her late husband co-founded, Liljenquist & Beckstead and Lenkersdorfer Fine Jewelers in their five locations spanning the DC Metropolitan area. In addition to her role as an owner and investor, Sherrie has led the companies in brand and marketing strategies, as well as the leadership in the first universal website.

Sherrie has directly partnered with the global leaders of 25 luxury brands that include Rolex, Cartier, Breitling, Chopard and David Yurman. Sherrie’s initiatives in facilitating excellence in leadership training, mentorship, as well as corporate and community development and education remain her focus in her businesses and in community leadership.

In addition to serving as the Co-Chair of the NVTRP Polo Classic for the past three years, Sherrie currently serves as the Public Relations Co-Chair on the Executive Committee at Georgetown Lombardi Breast Cancer Center in Washington, DC.

She recently launched a brand that she designed, a cause branded jewelry line, The Lockkeepers Collection, which donates a portion of the proceeds to ongoing restoration and preservation at The Trust for the National Mall, where she serves on the National Advisory Council.

Sherrie is also a new member of The Middleburg Film Festival Board of Directors.

Sherrie is an emeritus 3-term member of Atlantic General Hospital Board of Directors, St. Mary’s School Board of Directors in Annapolis, MD, and President of Historic St. Martin’s Foundation.

Bob Baldassari joined the Board in 2022. His daughter, Amanda, leases her horse, Prince, to the program and Bob has been a long-time supporter of NVTRP.

He is a Principal of Matthews, Carter & Boyce, joining the firm in 1996. Bob has expertise in medical practice management, resolving complex tax problems, tax planning, and working with family-owned businesses. He has been a CPA for over 40 years.

Bob is a recognized tax expert. He is an active member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants Taxation Committee. He has presented close to 100 tax-related presentations as a tax expert, has published several tax-related articles and appeared on radio and television as a tax expert. He was an adjunct professor of Advanced Federal Taxation. Bob has been an Instructor of Continuing Professional Education courses for the Greater Washington Society of CPAs, the Virginia Society of CPAs and other CPA firms on tax-related topics. He has taught the Professional Ethics course for the Virginia Society of CPAs and is currently on the Professional Ethics Committee and the Tax Advisory Committee.

Bob’s clients include closely held businesses, medical practices, high net worth individuals as well as individuals and businesses with complex tax problems.

In 2022, there are also changes to the Executive Committee: Kelly Harbitter will serve as Chair; Jeff Wilklow, Vice-Chair; Bob Baldassari, Treasurer and Elizabeth Bille, Secretary.

The NVTRP Board of Directors is composed of 13 members who strive to maintain a composition that represents the varied interests of those who participate in, and are involved with, NVTRP. The recent Board vacancies were due to the unfortunate passing of former member Greg Pellegrino this past spring and the retirement and relocation of long-time board member John Tuthill after the 2021 term.
