Event Planning/Development Internship

The event planning/development intern will be responsible for assisting the development team in planning for our “Ride to Thrive” Polo Classic, NVTRP’s largest annual fundraiser. Duties will include, but are not limited to: sponsor recruitment and recognition, silent auction organization, social media marketing, volunteer scheduling.

Intern will learn and be exposed to:

  • Real world knowledge of working with sponsors and vendors and planning

  • Hands on strategy

  • Participation in regular event meetings



  • Marketing- create social media plan to advertise event, write and send press releases

  • Auction- photograph items and input into online bidding system, create certificates and displays, sort and pack auction supplies 

  • On site logistics- create signage/posters



  • College marketing, event planning, development, fundraising, advertising/PR, communications major (or intended major)

  • Must be motivated, organized and possess good communication skills


Schedule and Compensation:

  • 10 hours a week around intern’s schedule for 9 weeks from August 5-October 4, 2019 (dates are somewhat flexible).

  • $8.00/hour
